Privacy policy
Last updated October 11, 2026.
This policy describes the MacRouter macOS app provided by Nuvex. For privacy questions, contact eduardo@nuvex.tech.
Information on your Mac
MacRouter stores routing rules, browser and profile associations, remembered document IDs or website hosts, and the file-access grants you create. It reads browser profile names and account labels from a browser’s Local State file only after you select that file. The app does not request browser history, cookies or browser passwords.
Saved choices may include a document title, and rules you explicitly create may retain a shared-drive ID or an owner email domain. Connected account records retain the Google subject identifier, email address, original OAuth client ID and associated browser profile. Configuration and any import backups remain in the app’s local storage. Account tokens are stored in macOS Keychain. Importing settings does not export Google tokens or another installation’s file-access grants.
Optional Google access
If you connect an account, MacRouter requests identity and email access to identify it, plus read-only Google Drive metadata access to check incoming document links. For the particular file in a link, it requests file ID, title, owner email, shared-drive ID and whether that account can edit it. These checks help choose a browser profile and apply your routing rules.
MacRouter does not enumerate your Drive, download document contents, or change files or sharing permissions. Metadata checks go directly from your Mac to Google over HTTPS. Lookup results are held in memory. If you explicitly remember a destination or create a rule from a result, the app can retain a document ID and title, shared-drive ID or owner email domain in local settings. Nuvex does not operate a backend that receives these tokens or metadata.
MacRouter’s use and transfer of information received from Google APIs follows the Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements. Google data is used for the routing features described here. It is not sold or used for advertising, data brokerage or AI model training.
Where a routed URL goes
MacRouter sends the URL to the browser and profile you choose. A selected profile launcher also receives that URL, the browser path and profile directory. URLs can contain document IDs, query parameters or other private information. A user-installed launcher runs with your macOS user’s privileges; review it and select only a script you trust. Your browser, websites and chosen script have their own behavior and privacy practices.
Your controls and retention
You can disable automatic Google checks, cancel sign-in, remove accounts from this Mac, delete remembered choices and rules, and replace selected profile metadata files or the launcher. Removing an account deletes this Mac’s saved token; it does not revoke Google’s project authorization on other devices. You can revoke authorization through your Google Account connections.
Local settings remain until you remove or replace them. Import backups are retained locally so you can recover earlier settings; backups may retain previous account labels and routing choices. They do not contain account tokens. Revoking Google authorization and deleting local app data are separate actions.
Diagnostics, website and support
MacRouter has no developer analytics or telemetry service. Apple may process installation, diagnostic and beta feedback information under its own policies. If you send support email or TestFlight feedback, we receive the information you choose to include. Send only what is needed; avoid passwords, tokens and private document links.
Website hosting. The MacRouter website at macrouter.nuvex.dev is a separate static site hosted by Cloudflare. These pages do not add analytics SDKs, advertising trackers, cookies or contact forms. Cloudflare processes ordinary request and security information, which can include your IP address, requested URL and technical browser or device information, to deliver and protect the site. Its handling of this information is described in Cloudflare’s Privacy Policy. We do not use website request data for advertising or tracking you across websites.
Changes and requests
We will update this policy when the app’s data handling changes. If a change requires new Google access or a new use of Google data, the app will request consent before using that access. Contact the address above to ask about information you have sent to support.
